Keefer Wilson’s Journey from The Shed Skatepark, to Olympic Debut

Keefer Wilson, a dedicated Shed Skatepark local since 2015 and active member of Casey's skateboarding community, has evolved from a talented youngster to an Olympic competitor, set to compete in the Men's Park Skateboarding event at the 2024 Paris Games.

The Shed Skatepark and the City of Casey are buzzing with excitement as local rider and Team Shed member Keefer Wilson prepares to compete in the Men’s Park Skateboarding event at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Wednesday, August 7th. This achievement marks a significant milestone for both Keefer and the local skateboarding community in Casey as the first local rider to compete at the Olympics. Keefer has been skating his entire life and has been a Shed Skatepark local since 2015.

Keefer Wilson's participation in the Olympic Games is a monumental moment for The Shed Skatepark and the City of Casey. It showcases the incredible talent and dedication nurtured within our community, inspiring skaters of all ages to pursue their dreams on the global stage.

Keefer’s road to the Olympics includes notable accomplishments. In 2018, at just 11 years old, he became one of the youngest ever X Games big air competitors. More recently, he won best trick at Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert with an impressive Nosegrab 900.

The Shed has been a regular training ground for Keefer, who often uses the park’s vert ramp and bowl to hone his skills. The vert ramp features a resi matt (a soft rubber surface) on one side, allowing skaters to practice advanced tricks in a safer setting before taking them to wood ramps.

It’s been so cool to see Keefer progress from budding prodigy to full blown elite professional. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and despite all his success he has remained a humble and down to earth member of the community. We’re so proud of him and wish him nothing but the best.

Keefer’s Olympic journey has energised the local skateboarding scene in Casey. Both Keefer and his sister Aaliyah, who is also an elite skater, have become not only inspirations to younger skaters, but they’re also active and engaged members of the community.

Keefer has continuously blown the minds and been an inspiration and role model to everyone around him. Seeing the consistent hard work and dedication he has put into his skating the past 10 years has been incredible to watch and makes watching him compete at the Olympics a lot more meaningful.

Jack, The Shed Skatepark Staff Member

The entire Casey community congratulates Keefer on his remarkable accomplishment and wishes him the very best as he competes in Paris on the 7th August.
