Olive Road proudly hosted VACCA’s Community NAIDOC Day, on July 10th, celebrating the 2025 theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
Families from across the southern region came together to share food, and honour culture, connection, and community. With over 500 attendees, the day was filled with engaging activities such as clapstick and boomerang wood burning, rock painting, banner making, sports, and arts and crafts.
"The VACCA event was a huge success. it was amazing to see such a strong community flourish and support each other. we started off the day with a smoking ceremony and the rest of the day was filled with activities, games and food."
Jasmine Nation - Acting Centre Manager ( Olive Road Sporting Complex )
The event opened with a powerful Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by Murrindindi, setting the tone for a meaningful and joyful celebration.
VACCA had strong community support, with contributions from Casey Youth Services and the 360 Bus, Victoria Police, Fire Rescue Victoria, Bunnings, South East Water, Dandenong & District Aboriginal Co-operative (DDACL), and Reclink.
VACCA's NAIDOC week community event is one of the highlights of our year at Olive Road. The joy, the connection and the community spirit on display is wonderful, the VACCA team do such an amazing job. We are really proud that such a significant event is being held at Olive Road annually.
