The Shed Skatepark is proud to launch its inaugural Elite Pathway Skate Academy, officially endorsed by Skate Australia.
Led by experienced and passionate coaches Will Stoyles and Jack Duff, the program has been designed to support intermediate to advanced skateboarders as they take the next step in their development. With a strong focus on progression, performance and inclusion, the academy provides a structured pathway for riders looking to build on their foundations and continue advancing within the sport.
Stoyles brings extensive experience across both grassroots and high-performance skateboarding, having coached athletes in international competition environments across the past two Olympic cycles. His background includes delivering and supporting high-performance camps at the AIS and across Australia, as well as working with the Chinese National Skateboarding Team. Before moving into coaching, Stoyles built a distinguished career as a sponsored skateboarder from a young age, representing major Australian brands and an international footwear company, with career highlights including Vans Warped Tour wins in Melbourne in 1997 and Sydney in 1999.
“The successful launch of this program follows extensive planning and consultation, with a clear focus on continually demonstrating the high value that The Shed, Aligned Leisure and the City of Casey place on the national skateboarding pathway and the long-term success of skateboarding in Australia.”
Matt Connelly - Centre Manager
The academy will run each school term, with places capped at a maximum of 10 riders to ensure a personalised coaching experience and a focused, high-performance training environment. Throughout the program, participants will develop across all areas of skateboarding and personal progression, including technical skill development, strength and conditioning, mindset, competition run planning and strategic performance preparation.
"The program has provided 10 young skaters with the opportunity to work alongside industry experts in a focused development environment, supporting their long-term progression and helping build the skills, confidence and experience that may contribute to future high-performance opportunities, including Olympic aspirations toward LA28, Brisbane 2032 and beyond."
