The Casey Basketball Association brought elite basketball to the local City of Casey community last Thursday night, hosting an NBL 2026 Preseason game at Casey Stadium.
Melbourne United defeated the Cairns Taipans 116–91. United exploded out of the gates with Finn Delany and debutant Tyson Walker combining for 18 quick points, before Tanner Krebs added four triples to help establish a commanding early lead.

The atmosphere was electric, with 1,400 in attendance. Families, juniors, and basketball enthusiasts from across the region filled the stands to see their NBL heroes up close. For many in the community, it was a rare and exciting opportunity to experience professional basketball right on their doorstep.
