Casey Stadium was proud to have played a significant role in the 2025 Eltham-Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament, hosting 362 games and welcoming over 500 teams and 5,000 players through our doors from January 24-27. As one of several venues participating in this massive tournament, we were thrilled to contribute to an event that saw an incredible 5,350 games played across all locations, involving 1,805 teams throughout Melbourne.
Our local Casey Cavaliers teams achieved remarkable success throughout the tournament, bringing home multiple gold medals across various divisions. The U16.1 and U18.1 Boys teams secured championship victories in their respective A2 divisions, while the U14.6 Girls demonstrated exceptional determination in a thrilling overtime victory against Knox to claim the C4 championship. Additional gold medals were secured by the U18.4 Boys team, who emerged victorious in an exciting C1 division final against Sturt, the U12.7 Boys team who triumphed over Keysborough, and the U16.6 Girls team who showed outstanding skill in their C5 division win against Dandenong.
The success of this massive sporting event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our hardworking staff team. We extend our sincere gratitude to the tournament organisers, referees, officials, and the countless individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of hundreds of games at our venue.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with major sporting events and providing a premier venue for basketball in Casey.
