Sunday sessions are there to help the community push back against boozy weekends and make the most of Sunday.

Casey Leisure is offering free exercise and wellbeing activities on Sunday mornings during the month of August 2024 as follows:

How do I participate?

  1. Create a free guest account on our online customer portal.
    1. Select the centre you wish to train at
    2. Select “Casual Bookings”
    3. Select “Create a FREE account”
    4. Fill out your details and select “Create account”
  2. Go to Shop and add the Sunday Sessions Coupon to your cart.
  3. Proceed to the checkout
  4. Select the Sunday group fitness class that you wish to attend, and check out with your coupon. (Please note, you can only book group fitness classes 3 days in advance).
  5. On the day of your class, just mention you’re attending a “Sunday Session” at Reception at your nominated centre.

How does going to the gym change someone’s relationship with alcohol?

There is a strong relationship between physical activity and level of alcohol use, as regular physical activity can significantly help people to decrease alcohol consumption. Studies have shown more physically active you are, the less you tend to drink. The natural release of dopamine you get from exercise prevents turning to the unnatural dopamine release alcohol provides you with.

Why is the program only offered on a Sunday?

Participating in physical activity early on a Sunday morning provides a great opportunity to drink less on the Friday and Saturday nights before. Being active on a Sunday morning is also a great way for people to make the most of their weekend and to start the week feeling fresh and active.
